 Breeder group, Breeder Class 1 Thank you Maarit Haavisto and Katariina Lahikainen for the photos. A warm thank you to the owners of our dogs for this great turn out to the Specialty Show. Even though everythin didn't go that great let's be happy with the results we got and go to the next shows in good spirit. Overall our dogs did great in a tough judging! Some didn't have enough ring experience, coat, substance, size etc. Still we know that the own dog is the best :) You can't give up, shows come and go and so do judges opinions. The atmosphere at the show was good except for the lack of space and small ring in which it was difficult to even run with the dog. You had to be afraid of the slippery floor both at and off the carpet. The judge treated the dogs nicely and was kind. She wrote about things that were true but on the other hand she gave much value to small areas which played a bigger role in the final outcome than the overall picture (for example the paws). I was the only one who was able to show the breeder group. All the dogs were given excellents, two of them were class winners and one had become a champion at this Specialty Show. Despite this our breeder group didn't get the honor prize which I couldn't conceive as the dogs were already awarded with excellent which is a higher prize than the honor prize. The reason was that they needed tighter paws. Well, if you don't want to give any credit or want to encourage the breeding work done in the country that's fine but I have to say that I was offended by this and all the other breeders were confused and wonder how is this possible. Everyone within the breed would have granted the honor prize to our group because the judging was so tough but this was the outcome this time.. It might well have been that the judge didn't know about the judging rules in Finland etc.. The written critique was almost forgotten first but this I think is the fault of the organizer if they don't tell how you grade dogs in the country. I had six of my own dogs at the show. Pena was second in the puppy class with the honor prize, Khan our USA import was second in the Open Class with an excellent, Äijä our Danish import was second in the Best Dog competition and the winner of the Best Head award, Irina won the champion class with an excellent and Alice our girl born in Russia did best by being 4th in the females. Pilvi was first in the female puppies, received the honor prize and was BOS puppy. Despite everything it was nice show trip, we went camping for the Saturday-Sunday night in Lempivaara. The cottage was nice and we had a good time. A big thank you for the company to Mia, Mervi, Konsta's family and Ebba's and Nana's family (we didn't take those photos this time either). On Sunday we headed for the Puppy SHow with Mervi, Pilvi and Pena and had the same judge as on Saturday. The kids did great at the show! Thank you to the judge and everyone who cheered for us. Super thanks to Anne again for everything and congratulations for Nuppu's great placement in the Best Female competition. And a big thank you once more to the owners of our dogs. Huge congratulations for Väinö's champion title to family Palo and congratulations for the Best Tail award to Rocky's owners. Congratulations for the winners of the Specialty Show, Score and his owners and to Päivi and Mauri for Prada's great win over the females!  FIN CH SENSEO BLACK WIZARD "ÄIJÄ" Our co-owned boy Äijä gained his Champion title with style in Seinäjoki, his 20th CAC made him a Champion right after he turned 2-years-old. Despite his young age Äijä already has many great achievements, for example Royal Canin BIS Junior and Grand Prix placements, Best In Show win at Jyväskylä, many group placements and a high placement in the Finnish Kennel Clubs Show Dog competition. His first offspring seem promising. Time will tell what the future holds for this boy. In the photos above is Äijä at different ages.  BOB Puppy BOS Puppy A great weekend at the shows, we had some great success on our home show. Our golden boy Äijä gained his Champion title soon after he turned 2-years-old, it was his first try. This Champion CAC was his 20th CAC. On top of this Äijä was BOB and the winner of Group 5! We didn't get a placement in the BIS ring on Sunday. Äijä's and Irina's puppies did also great and Midian's girls got CACIB, RE-CACIB and RE-CAC. They were BB-2, BB-3 and BB-4 in the show. Oona was second in the female puppies and Poju got only a Good this time as he was out of coat. Just needs more muscle and coat before the next show. I want to say to the owners that don't enter the dogs to shows if they are changing their coat, they don't look their best at that time! Thank you to all our friends for a nice weekend at the show. I especially want to thank Marika who was here a couple of days earlier already to help take care of the dogs, bathing them etc. To Mervi and our co-owned girl Pilvi thank you for visiting us and congratulations for the BOB Puppy win! Super thanks again to Anne for everything and congratulations for the BOB win of your Mudi Hippi! Thank you for a quick visit also to Johanna and thank you for the photos! I also had my friend Teija Valkama's Basset Hound Manu The Sausage at the show, his real name is Yesterday Of Riverside. He showed me at the ring that he can do what he wants, in Basset style. Manu realized that I was a first timer when it comes to Bassets. The Sausage sat down and also lay down at times in the ring, hah hah... But we did good as he was BOB and finally also BIG-3, that was great. I am so proud. :) Thank you Teija for trusting me with your precious Manu. You can take a look at Manu's other accomplishments at kennel Basstrik's website. Our daughters Elina and Laura were also at the show and everything went well. They asked me first thing in the morning before we left to the show, is the "squashed" dog coming with us. Manu has truly captured the hearts of us all. ;) Because of his looks and also his personality. Let's hope that he will be ours soon. :)

 BIG-2, BOB BOS BOS We went to the show in Lapua, because it was close and we wanted to support our nearby show. We did great as Rusty ad Manta were the only ones receiving Excellents out of 12 Beagles. Rusty also placed 2nd in the group. Manta did great. She got her last CAC and was BOS. Congratulations to Manta's owners! Now she can come home to Tampere if you promise to still show her ;) Better luck next time to Pate and Anne. Thank you to the judges. August

All got very flattering critiques, they are very promising ladies. Below are photos of the girls.

Compared to the girls Rocky boy looked just like a bear, incredible strong and handsome young male. Thank you Sari and family for the meetings!

We had lots of success, more than we even dared to hope for. The Midian's Team came home with 5 x CAC, 4 x CACIB, 3 x BOB, 2 x BOS, 2 x RE-CAC, 1 x RE-CACIB. And on top of all this an International Champion title to the great Midian's Intense Dragon and the honor of placing 2nd in Group 5 with Senseo Black Wizard on Saturday!! Huge congratulations to Heli and Into for their INT CH title and for their all together eight CACIBs!!! Äijä has gained 18 CACs and 10 CACIBs so far! Our little "prindle princess" Alice was to our suprise very successful. The two day wins in the females with CACs was a great accomplishment. Big thank yous for handler Marina Ivanicheva! Big thank yous also to Svetlana, Roma and George Golota. It was nice to meet you again. Thank you for being your company and being a wonderful host on Saturday evening. Iina was bit on the heavy side, apparently due to false preganancy. Next time better luck when competing in Finland! We will meet again in September! Thank you for a nice Friday evening to Heidi and Tapsa. And greetings to Wleho also, he's a great boy!! Thank you Tapsa very much for helping us carry the crates at the show place, we did manage to put up the tent after all. :) Thank you Heidi for helping with the driving and also for the company at the shows and camp site. Next time we will rent a cottage. ;) Tero and the girls were also with us in a rented motor home were we stayed for the weekend. They had a very nice time, especially when the girls got to play with George. The didn't like it at the show place that much so they only visited on Sunday. A warm thank you to all the judges, they were very nice and competent! A warm thank you to all our friends for a nice Sawo Show. The weather was in our favor on one of the days. The show was well organized except for the rude parking staff. It was amusing to see them even argue with each other at times. I don't know what brought up such behaviour. ;) We also got told off when all we wanted to do was to unload our vehicle closer to the gate. The frist bans were silly in a sense that not all of the participants surely were entered already for Friday when you were supposed to go get them, that was a big minus. The show place had great food service. Even the picky eaters didn't need to go hungry at Kuopio. All in all the folks in Kuopio were nice people. This is why the dogs were of different type, size and colour. We did not show our breeder group in the big ring even though we could have. July

Midian's Little Victory Open Class EXC/1, BB-2, RE-CAC Midian's Kind Queen Open Class EXC/2, BB-3 American Akita breeder class: Midian's Kennel Breeder Class 1, HP, BOB Breeder (We had the same dogs as on Saturday, they were not shown in the big ring.) Beagle males: Midian's Copperman Open Class EXC/?, BD-3 This was a show that will not be forgotten easily, we needed some outdoor spirit and humor to get through it. The rings were like mud puddles and they resembled mud wrestling arenas. I can only imagine how the owners of small dogs with longer coat have gotten through the day. It sure was an experience but there is nothing we from Bothnia would not get through, that's just how we are! ;) We were on the road with Heidi and we had a great time! Thank Eija for your hospitality and for putting up with us the whole weekend. :) Tank you also to all our friends and the owners of our dogs. We will be back next year if the show place has changed. ;) Congratulations to our Beagle Vili and his owner Nora! Congratulations also to Heidi for the success of her Icelandic Sheep Dogs! I especially want to congratulate Heidi, Tapsa and Welho, and of course Welho's breeder Anne for the great success on Sunday!! Welho is an amazing boy! It is great to see what a successful combination of Midian's dogs can produce. Welho is nearly perfect! Thank you to the judges on both days.

Äijä showed like a dream with me and the result was great despite the fact that his coat was not at its best. Thank you Anne and "mudi grandma" for a fun day, we had a great time once again. Unfortunately I forgot to enter my other dogs to this show but luckily Anne had taken care of Äijä so I was able to go with him to this show near where we live. I also showed Nuppu. She placed third in the females and got a reserve certificate. June
