We couldn't get top placements at saturday's show, as we expected. That's why we entered only few dogs to the show - for support.
Äijä didn't enter show ring because of his strange loss of coat. Alice was 3rd in her class in Americanakitas and junior male Ando got very good.
I thought that Foxhound judge doesn't know what he is doing, and I was right. The biggest reason for Weezer's critique was her curved backline.
..And that is the only correct backline... Allan is still very puppy like. Abby, who lives in Denmark, didn't enter the shows.
Thank you all for your help. It is not easy to be in a trip alone with dogs. Congratulations Helsinki Winner -title winners!

There were more Americanakita's at Sunday's Winner show.. And it felt like the whole show area was crowded. I think many preferred this annual show.
Younger Midian's dogs didn't get bigger success, but critiques were very promising. The critique was mainly excellent and very good. Alice was wrong colored for the judge.
We can not dye our dogs darker like it is done in other countries. Other very annoying thing was disqualifying critique of white dogs with light noses.
This is allowed in Americanakitas. The judge wondered why we didn't dye noses to black before entering the ring... Well, this is not allowed in Finland.
It was a shame that nobody told this to the judge. I think he should have been informed this before his judging day. And I don't mean only Americanakitas, but generally.
Many finnish dogs were handled and that is not allowed. Nobody cares about the rules...
With American Foxhound we had a wonderful day. Allan got only "very good", but I wasn't expecting much... He is still puppy-like and he needs more
ring experience. He started his shows at these winner shows. Bob and Weezer were best of breed and best opposite sex, and they both got Winner titles with
cacib's of course. I'm very grateful in these winner-10 titles, both dogs got what they deserved. Thank you judges.
Congratulations to all Winner title winners. At this year also both Americanakita winner titles went to Norway. Special congratulations to Äijä's and Geisha's
breeders Heidi and Anders. Great wins! Geisha's sister were so beautiful and promising. I like her very much... I'm looking forward to see what Geisha will
achieve. Her sister got junior winner titles from both days, wonderful!
Thanks to all my friends, dog owners, helpers etc. for the nice, but hard weekend at Helsinki! My Americanakita puppy girl Tango moved to Blanka.
All good and success for her.

Thank you to Hanna for a nice day. Thank you for handling Aurora and for all your help with goofy puppies ;) We had a really great day despite the rain. Luckily the sun did shine occasionally.. The judges treated the puppies calmly and everything went well even though the Foxhounds were in the ring for the first time and Geisha for the second time. Everyone did great and got good critiques. The American Foxhounds also showed in the Best Brace ring but they didn’t get a placement. Propably the first American Foxhound Brace ever shown in Best Brace competition. The placements went to breeds more familiar to the judge. Thank you to the judges.

Mister Manu is our mascot, and a funny one! I must say that there’s not a dull moment with him, he will come up with all sorts of things to get attention. Typically he lays on his back and shakes his legs, and grunts. Manu doesn’t leave anybody cold, he charms them all. For the children Manu is the number one dog and you can’t watch him without laughing. Bassets are real charmers, but at the moment we only have enough humor for one. ;)
The Champion title came with relatively few show entries. Time will tell what we will come up with next but the end of this year he will propably just plough the fields and forest in Lyly ;) The best age considering the shows is yet to come. Thank you to Teija for this gorgeous

Erni is our Joe's (Moon Jumper's Joe Cocker) and Hutikan Chelsea's
son. This summer this great boy has become Finnish Champion so
some of the tests have gone very well, great achievement. And so
much for so called show lines which are no good on the hunt.. This
is yet another example.. It is strange how a beautiful Beagle
can't work on the hung if he is taught as a puppy and the
instincts of the breed are awaken. From our Beagles many are fully
working on the hunt, if I could just get the owners to take them
to the tests also.
Congratulations to Erni's owners Johanna and Jani Multamäki and
the breeder. Joe is doing well. He is spending nice retirement
days in my aunts family in Ruha.

Thank you for everyone for a fun show day. The weather was not the
best possible, but otherwise the day was great. We got "double"
new American Akita champions. Huge congratulations to Mervi and
Impi for the new Champion title! That luckily made Mervi's day
because we were expecting Wilma Beagle to get at least an
Excellent. Congratulations for Ando's BOB Puppy win to family
Sumen-Martinmäki! Stella's results is a bit of a shame but what
can you do but practise more and head for new challenges!
Pena boy showed again what kind of tricks he can do with mom. He
danced in the middle of the ring and that was so fun, but despite
this Pena was the best male and got his final CAC and Champion
title. Second in the males was (from kennel Black Wizard's) Into's
and Vappu's son Welho! Congratulations Heidi and Tapsa, next time
we will celebrate your Champion title!! Konsta won the Champion
class and was third best male, congratulations Aini and Arto. The
gorgeous Mosku, Olavi's brother, was best dog 4th this time.
Congratulations Kirsi. Miss Lola was second in the females.. She
lost to her aunt, who had the charisma brought by age ;) Paavo's
and Niki's girl bred by Alpweiden was thrid in the females and got
re-CAC, congratulations Auli.
Our breeder group got a very good critique and was the best group
of the day, Best In Show! Thank you to all owners of our dogs for
making this possible and staying for the big ring. Special thanks
to Marjo for handling Lola! (There were 13 American Akitas) Rusty
Beagle showed well and was 4th best in the group. (There were 12
Beagles) In the group there were also the dachshunds (groups 4/6).
The dachshunds made it to placements 1 and 2. Great day, thank you
to the judges!

What a GREAT day. All I can say is thank you to our friends/owners of our dogs who made this years Specialty Show one to remember for a long time. Thank you to everyone who helped, handled and to everyone who has supported us over the years. These wins give a lot of strength and belief in breeding the American AKitas.
We had a fun time and the atmosphere was high. The icing on the cake was Pertti’s Best In Show win, huge congratulations to owners/handlers Päivi Silomäki and Mauri Lielahti. Now Pertti achieved such a win which should have come ages ago!! Pertti won also this year the Best Head competition by a clear margin, CONGRATULATIONS!!
Congratulations to Alice’s breeders Svetlana and Roma Golota in Russia for this gorgeous girl, who won the tough Best Bitch competition this year. And what’s great, she is a brindle girl. That’s a tough colour in the ring but we have had many wins. Thank you, I will do my best also in the future.
Huge congratulations to Tytti, Wilhelmiina and Mervi for the BB-2 placement and CAC, well done Wiltsu! Congratulations also for the great success in the Junior Handler competition!
Congratulations also to other competitors. This year the judge was looking for an American type head and expression and strong American type, well structured and moving American Akita. She used the whole scale when judging and there were less than 20 dogs who received an Excellent, something like 7 males and 9 females. All I can say is that it was a great achievement to get 3 males and 2 females in the best placements. Äijä and his sons and the BOB & BOS dogs´dams are siblings, so the best places went to the same family. The Breeder Class win was a great achievement also this year, we have won it already several years. We were Best In Show-3 in the BIS ring!

Our Danish import girl Geisha took part in her first Puppy Show at the age of 5 months. Emma was BOB Puppy and she won the group too, congratulations Kata and Emma, well done!! Our breeder group was BOB and in the end also Best In Show-4! Congratulations to Mervi for the honor prize and the second place of the Mergitten younger puppies’ breeder group! (The judge gave the honor prize but mentioned, that the dogs could be more of the same colour and that there were two types of dogs in the group, this is true. It is not easy to have a cohesive group in our breed with the same colour. Next year this will be easier when the group can be from the same litter. The dogs in our group got praises from other areas of which I was very pleased because the Canadian judge has surely seen a lot of this breed. We didn’t show the group in the BIS ring because it was way too hot.

I must say that we had a fun but tiring trip. We were there with Heidi and nine dogs.. The hot weather was impossible and at times it felt like if we will make it home
alive.. In the end everything went wll and we got a lot more success than I dared to hope and wait for. We took home 10 CACIB’s!! WOW (one was Into’s, bred by us) 5 BOS’s, 3 BOB’s and 5 RE-CACIB’s (one was Mökö’s, bred by us), 2 RE-CAC’s and BOB from the Breeder Class. Heidi’s Icelandic Sheepdogs also cleaned the table nicely ;) Congratulations Heidi!! Congratulations and thank you to the owners of our dogs!! A warm thank you, even though I don’t wish for any more warmth, to all for nice Sawo Show, and thank you for the food to Aini, Heli and Erika!! It’s great that this show event won’t be held next year, at least now it feels like this 3 day show event is too tough :) Thank you to the show employees who worked hard all day in the heat and thank you to all judges.

Lola gained her Champion title in three consecutive shows in the adult classes. She is cute and has beautiful colour, her temperament is really charming. Her parents are Khan (Blak Jak's All Or Nothing) and Ilona (Midian's In Your Dreams). There are still many shows planned for this year so we will see what else is in store for
her.

Thank you to the owners of our dogs and other friends for a nice day!! Thank you to Aini for the food service, at least we didn’t die of hunger. Kennel help was Hanna, thank you for all your help! Alice won the bitches and was BOS, she showed great! The icing on the cake was of course the new Champion title for Lola, and Gora’s second place in the males while blowing coat was a great achievement also. Pena had too much power again ;) and he had enough energy for a few dances in the ring also.. The youngsters got only “good” this time because they are not yet developed. We showed the breeder group in the BIS ring but the group was not cohesive enough, three males and a female, but I must say that it was great to see how well the males got along with each other, surprisingly well. We didn’t get any placement and I didn’t expect one for this groups, but it was our home show so we had to show off this beautiful breed J Thank you to the judge.

The Summer Show judge this year was Harri Lehkonen, there were 29 American Akitas entered to the show three of which were our dogs and one was our Polish import boy Paavo. All of them did fine, three won their own classes and Paavo was second in his class, but the brightest star in the Show was my co-owned girl Midian's Talk About Love "Tytti". She won the whole show and was BOB BIS1 handled to the finest by Wilhelmiina, great job Wiltsu and Tytti!! The photos really show that they didn’t go to the ring to apologize. Well done Wiltsu, CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU!!! Wilhelmiina is only 12-years-old and took the win home this well, I’m proud!! I heard that she had said after the show that “now we will start conquering the world”, great attitude!! Too bad that I wasn’t able to be there this year. I had to be at another show. Congratulations also to Wiltsu’s mother Mervi, who did well by winning the Open Class with Impi. Congratulations to Ando and Marjo for winning the young puppy dog class, great job!l Congratulations to Paavo and Sini for the second place in theyr class, thank you for all the work and help with Paavo. They only choose the best in the Summer Show so only the best male and female puppy and best male and female get placements in the end. Thank you everyone for a nice but hot day in Pori, I got nice sunburns. ;) Super thanks to Mervi for the food! The day was great. Our “black horse” Lola, to whom I didn’t expect this much even though she is beautiful, did great and so did our “macho man” Pena who was second and got Cacib. I knew Pena was already too bearlike for Hassi. Vici was in his first show. Unfortunately he didn’t like the announcements and didn’t lift up his tail in movement. Because of that this time he got only a Very Good. The judge was sorry about this, because she liked him very much. Vilhelmiina showed my co-owned girl Tytti and the result was great second place in the females, great job Viltsu and Tytti! Our breeder group was best of breed and thank you to the owners of our dogs for waiting to show in BIS ring despite the hot weather. Our kennel girl this time was Hanna. We did manage to put up our camp eventually. ;) Thank you for your help with the driving. I was so tired on the way back home when I had spent last night washing and grooming the dogs, not that much time to sleep. Shows are a tough hobby. ;) Thank you to the judge.

A warm thank you for a nice day at the Puppy Show to the owners of the X-litter puppies and everyone else at the show. It was nice to see what the puppies from Irina and Zony looked like at the age of 5 months. This time the handsome Luka won the males but had to give in for female beauty in the end as the winner was my co-owned girl Aune who was also 4th in Group! All these promising puppies got honor prizes and the judge commented that these are great puppies and their movement is already at this age great to watch. Midian’s breeder group was Best In Show-4, we were very happy with the success. Thank you to the judge.
Miss Emma moved to her co-owner Katariina Lahikainen during this trip. Emma was not entered to the Puppy Show so we didn’t yet get a show critique for her but this should be corrected soon as Kata is already looking forward to starting the shows together with Emma. Bob was with Suski and Irina in Estonia. The Italian judge thought Bob was too short and and his back should have been
straighter. Bob's back and strcuture is what the breed standard says, it is a shame
how much the judges view on the breed still varies, thank you anyways.
Thank you Suski and Irina, congratulations to you and your dogs for success both in Russia and in Estonia!! Suski and Tyson were Best In Show in Viburg! CONGRATULATIONS!! It's a shame we didn't know about the Specialty Show in Estonia for Group 6 the following day so we had not entered Bob there. Well there will be other

In his first time in the Junior Class at Vaasa Weijo won the males
despite his puppish looks. Congratulations Aini and Arto for
Weijo's great success! Thank you to Maarit for handling Mökö, he
placed third in the Best Dog competition. Congratulations to Heidi
and Mökö for the Re-Cacib. Gora showed for the first time.
Unfortunately he didn't like the white stripes in the floor and
moved loose, and tensed, the result was still fourth place in the
Best Dog competition, we are very pleased. Gora will now practise
on different floors. Alice was outgoing and lively as usual, this
time our Miss Sunshine was second in the Best Bitch competition
and got a Re-Cacib. All in all we had a nice day and got to leave
early to spend the weekend with Aini and Arto and the dogs :)

officially it's red & white and the American Foxhound Bob was
the wrong kind in every way. His topline was critiqued because the
judge said it shouldn't be arched, actually it should be. He also
wanted the chest to be like with the Hound, that is also a flaw if
the American Foxhound has this. The body shoudn't be round or
long, but this judge truly didn't know the breed standard.. He
also critiqued Bob's tail but understood that it has to be up..
The height measurement was also not accurately measured with a
homemade devise. There are many kind of judges and he was a nice
man otherwise just needs more training and an official Finnish
Kennel Club's measurement stick!
Bob continues his shows, there's only one way we can go from here
and that's up ;) The appearance of his offspring is already great.
Paavo's Lilli Beagle was shown in the working class and got an
Excellent, won the bitches and received a CAC and BOB. We were
second in the Group ring. Wow, congratulations to Paavo and Lilli!
One more CAC and Lilli will be a double Champion, this will be a
cause for celebration :) Thank you to the judge.

Kiarry's What About Bob Champion Class G (size 65cm)
Our Ressu boy did quite well, even though his coat was awfully
yellow because of the Rutirex wood fibers. Despite several baths
he was yellow but that didn't slow him down. Bob got only a Good
because of his size, otherwise the critique was excellent.. This
happens, but let's hope that in the future the judges learn more
about the breed and find out what the American Foxhound show line,
the pure line, is like.. They are bigger in the breeds country of
origin. There is no such thing as a perfect dog but is it so bad
to be a few centimeters oversized when these dogs need to run fast
in high snow. I showed Paavo Rintamäki's outgoing working
Champion Beagle Lilli and she was second in the females and got
Re-Cac, congratulations Paavo and Lilli. Thank you to Paavo for
the food and coffee and for the trip to Vesilahti. Thank you to
the judge.

What a great weekend. Yesterday Aini's and Arto's boys did well in
the north and today we got two new Finnish Champions, way to go.
Big congratulations to Päivi and Mauri for Pertti's Champion
title. He won about 20 CAC's before this last one after the age of
2-years which confirms the Champion title. A warm thank you for Pertti's great show career to Päivi and Mauri, more success is on
its way for sure! It's a shame that there's no photo of Pertti
from this show.
Alice also received her Finnish Champion title, we already had
Champion titles from Russia and Sweden. She is now Champion in
three countries, let's see what other titles the future will bring.
Greetings and thank you to Alice's breeders Svetlana and Roma in
Russia!
Olavi was in his first show and when he gets a bit more confident
in his showing the success is guaranteed. I am very happy with the
second place in the Best Dog competition, we will wait for his
coat to grow back on and then head for more shows. I can't show
him more at the moment because he lacks coat. It was so and so
with this show also but we needed the result for possible future
puppies.
Thank you to Heidi for being the driver, she drove all the way
there and back. Congratulations for the wins of your Icelandic
Sheep Dogs, you cleaned the table again. Thank you to the judges.

In this show the ring for American Akitas was placed in the far
corner and it was very difficult to get there with big crates and
large dogs, thank you for the help. We had a nice day even though
we didn't get great success. Pertti, who has the title Best Head
2009, got only a Very Good because of his head. This dog has
around 20 CAC's so it makes me wonder a bit but the judge makes
her own decisions and not everyone is used to the full heads which
some of our dogs have.
Akyoto's result was also a dissappointment, next time better luck
right Sanna. Thank you for preparing and bringing him to the show.
Thank you to Anne for preparing and bringing our Golden Boy to the
show.. Äijä showed great and there was no other dog in the ring
who moved like Äijä did. Doris got a good critique but I guess
she had a bit too much weight, the result was Good. Next time
better results. Mökö boy did nicely, congratulations Heidi!
Thank you to Maarit for handling him! A big thank you to Mervi for
bringing our Olavi boy back from the breeding trip, let's hope

The Open Show judge picked the dogs he wanted to the Best Dog and
Best Bitch competition from which the Best Dog and Best Bitch were
chosen, others were not placed. Äijä won the males but in the
end lost to "womenly" beauty and was BOS.
Congratulations to family Närkki for Gucci's BOB win at the Open
Show. In the puppies Rianna was BOS and the BOB winner was a
gorgeous USA import Sisu, congrats to family Varpula, he's a great
boy! A warm thank you to all the owners of our dogs who came to
this fun breed show. It was nice to see you and your dogs. We got
a lot of prizes and the atmosphere was nice. Thank you to the
judges and the sponsor, the owners of Musti&Mirri Matti and
Tuija Varpula for these great prizes.
After the Open Show it was time for the TOP 20 competition to
which many of our dogs were invited but unfortunately only some
could arrive.. This year the judges were Maija
Mäkinen, Sampo Miettinen and Erika Häkkinen. The draw was not in
our favour, siblings Pena and Pilvi were drawn as a pair, Pilvi
went through from this one. Alice was Äijä's pair and Äijä
went through. Daddy Äijä and daughter Pilvi were a pair and
Äijä went through. There were other pairs also which I don't
remember but in the end the whole competition and the TOP 20
winner was ÄIJÄ! It was a great feeling and an amazing
atmosphere, thank you to the judges!! The second was the Open Show
winner female Gucci, congratulations to family Närkki for great
success in this competition also!
A big thank you for the handling help to Susanna Virtanen, I could
not have made it without you! Huge thank you for the driving help
and travelling company and all the help to Erja, the great photos
were also taken by Erja Mäkelä, THANK YOU!! Thank you also to
the owners of our dogs and our co-owned girls and other friends
for a nice day at Lahti! To Anne of course super thanks with

NEW YEAR 2010
A short
summary of the news from year 2009
First
of all I want to thank all our friends, the owners of our dogs and
the people in co-operation with us for the past year. Thank you
for the nice moments we got to spent together with you.
Congratulations for your great achievements in all aspects of your
life as well as with your dogs!
From the dogs we have bred the year 2009 brought one Finnish
Champion, one Danish and Swedish Champion and one Polish Champion.
In addition to this one of the dogs bred by us achieved the
Tracking Champion title in Sweden.
In addition to the Champions the dogs bred by us gained 29 CAC's,
7 CACIB's, 15 BOB's, 14 BOS's, 8 Veteran BOB's and a few group
placements. Our American Akita Breeder Group has been Best In Show
6 times, once Best In Show 3 and BOB numerous times. A warm thank
you to the owners of our dogs!
From the dogs we have bred I want to give special notice to the
ones who have succeeded the best. Midian's Intense Dragon " Into"
is Champion in 7 countries and an International Champion as he
retired. The Danish and Swedish Champion titles came during year
2009. Congratulations to owner Heli Virtanen and thank you for
your great work with Into!
Midian's Amaterasu " Tara" is a Champion in 6 countries
with Winner titles and an International Champion title. Tara
achieved two Veteran titles and 8 BOB Veteran wins during year
2009. For our great sadness Tara passed away in December due to an
accident. Our warm condolences to family Kukkola! Tara was a great
dog.. Like Hanna said she was her once in a lifetime dog. Thank
you to family Kukkola for everything, Tara had a great life
From the youngsters I want to mention Midian's Piece of Artin
"Pertti". Pertti has gained 14 CAC's, BOS's and BOB's.
In the Specialty Show Pertti won the prize for Best Head. Thank
you for the great work with Pertti to owners Päivi Silomäki and Mauri
Lielahti. Congratulations and great success for this year!
Pertti's sister Midian's Piece Of Heaven " Pilvi" also
started the shows nicely. A few CAC's, BOS's, BOB's and the Best in Show
win at the Open Show. Thank you for all the work with Pilvi to her
other owner Mervi Lehto and good luck and success for this year!
Of course we congratulate and encourage also the new, young dogs
and their owners who are starting their shows. I just wanted to
give special notice in this short summary to those mentioned above
because of their success. Of course shows are not the main thing
when assessing dogs but health and good temperament and I
appreciate all the owners of our dogs equally. Thank you for
trusting me and that you have gotten your family member from me.
This also goes for Cockers and Beagles which I breed in a much
smaller scale these days. I hope that you will stay in touch with
me also in the future. I want to hear both the good and the bad
news.
Our golden boy Äijä wasn't shown that many times during 2009 but
we did succeed well a couple of times and got good starting points
for this years Show Dog competition. Äijä went to Denmark for a
short show tour and took home the Danish Champion title. Thank you
to breeders Heidi and Anders for taking care of him and also that
we got to visit you and take part in the invitational gala for the
most successful dogs in Danmark where Äijä also showed with
great success.
Alice visited Russia and succeeded well in her native land and
achieved the Junior Champion title and Russian Champion title.
Thank you to breeders Svetlana and Roma for this great opportunity.
I went to Sweden with Alice and we brought home the Swedish
Champion title with a CACIB and a BOB which was great.
Paavo also visited his breeder in Poland. He did well in his
native country and received the Polish Champion title with CACIB
and BOB. Thank you to Blanka's family for this great opportunity.
Two new, gorgeous American Fox Hounds arrived in late 2009. We
will start an interesting new project with them in the future. I
will tell more about this later on my website. Thank you to Kiarry's kennel.
Thank you to Cornelia for the arrival of our Amerikan Akita Akyoto.
We will start showing him now and also planning possible litters.
