The brightest star has passed away, our beloved Niko crossed the rainbow bridge.
The dog of my life, there will be no-one like him. The first dog I bred who was a star already when he was born.
Niko was the kind of dog I wish everyone would get to own once in their lifetime.
As the grief eases there will be golden memories left which will carry us through life.
A warm thank you to Nina Axi-Timmerbacka’s family for caring for Niko during his last
years.
Niko
is the all-time most successful Finnish American Akita and he has
numerous group placements and wins and also BIS placements and a BIS
win under his belt. Niko has been awarded as the most successful
American Akita in 2001, 2002 and 2003. He achieved the title for
International Champion in the beginning of July 2004.
Niko is healthy and his temperament is excellent. He has also been
temperament tested. Niko's offspring have been very promising and
good natured. Niko is a dog I wish we all could have the chance to
own once in our lifetime!
Today Niko lives at Nina's and Jarkko's small farm in Loppi.
His new companions are a gorgeous import American Akita girl Ouzo (Artic Ouzo Du
Val De La Boissiere) and Nina's Sarloos Wolfhounds which have been
very successful. Nina's kennel Wolfteam has been doing great work
for years with Sarloos Wolfhounds. They also have horses, donkeys,
goats and smaller animals; one Chihuahua, white hedgehogs and birds.
Nina did what other friends of white American Akitas dreamt of. Niko
and Ouzo have the first Finnish litter of puppies from white parents.
This white litter was born in June 2007 and the puppies look just
beautiful. Time will tell, what they will grow up to be like.
